RideHUD is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect minimal information required to provide the core functionality of the app:
- Location Data: We access your GPS location to provide real-time telemetry such as speed and bearing for your ride overlays. This data is processed locally on your device.
- Sensor Data: We access accelerometer and gyroscope sensors to calculate lean angles and G-forces for the HUD display.
- Media Files: We access your video files to render the HUD overlay onto them. This processing happens entirely on your device.
2. Permissions
Our app requests the following permissions:
- Location: Required to calculate speed and track your ride for the telemetry overlay.
- Storage/Media: Required to access your recorded videos and save the final versions with HUD overlays.
- Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to show the live HUD over your stock camera app while recording.
- Internet: Used for displaying non-intrusive advertisements (Google AdMob).
3. Data Usage & Privacy
Local Processing: All telemetry data logging and video rendering occur locally on your Android device. Your GPS tracks and ride sensor data are never uploaded to our servers.
Third-Party Ads: We use Google AdMob for advertisements. They may collect certain information to provide personalized ads. You can refer to Google's Privacy Policy for more details.
